Although the women's fellowship was formed in Kuwait on 17th
July 1974, it became a full-fledged auxiliary organization
of the church only in September 1975. A secretary, selected
by the members every year organizes the various activities
under the guidance of Achen, Kochamma and the executive committee
of the Parish.
The Women's fellowship initially met every Friday at 2.30
p.m. at the parsonage for prayers and bible study. Later the
Women's fellowship meetings were conducted at the activity
hall beside the church and parish hall. The timings were changed
to 5.30 p.m. to facilitate attendance of a large number of
parents who came to the premises along with their Sunday school
attending children. Later, the venue and timing of the monthly
prayers were changed to the Parsonage at 9.00 a.m on the second
Friday of every month. Many active members prayfully attended
these Bible study classes.
However, with the availability of the Diwaniya and for the
covenience of many attending members, now the Women's fellowship
prayer meetings are conducted on the 3rd Friday of every month
at 8.00 a.m at the Diwaniya at NECK premises.
Since its inception, the fellowship has been very active
in achieving its objectives. All women starting from the age
group of twenty in the congregation are members of this fellowship.
Keen interest is taken by the members in various charity works
extending to all needy people, mainly women in the Church
of South India. Most of our members are subscribers of the
"Kudumba Priyavadhini" an exclusive Women's Fellowship
publication from the Madhya Kerala Diocese and a treasure
chest of spiritual enlightening.
Members wholeheartedly take part in the church activities
and work together to grow spiritually as a single body of
Christ. Bible study classes and intercessory prayers are conducted
every Friday at the activity building at the NECK premises
under the auspices of the Women's fellowship. Furthermore,
Bible studies are conducted by the Pastor or other visiting
leaders at the Parsonage on second Fridays of every month
at 9.00 a.m.
Every year one service is observed as Women's day when women
undertake to lead the service.
Other activities include:
Annual money box collection (solely used for charitable purposes
and gospel work)
Annual harvest festival
Providing refreshment on important occasions like Christmas,
New Year etc.
Let us thank Almighty for the blessings received during the
past, dedicate ourselves and continue to serve together to
hear the word of God, "She has done what she could do"
(Mark:14:8)
